What is rain protection equipment?
Rain cannot stop our daily activities, so the only option is to adapt to the weather conditions. Learn more here about protection equipment for the rainy season.
Risks of working in the rain
Each work environment presents particular hazards for workers. Rain, in addition to increasing the risk of respiratory illnesses, changes the behavior of materials and work tools.
For example, excess moisture causes the ground to lose stability, since materials soften and loosen, which can lead to accidents ranging from simple trips to landslides in large areas, as well as collapses and falling debris from higher levels.
In addition, heavy rains and strong winds reduce visibility, which can cause accidents among workers. In the case of using electrical equipment, the risk of electrical current incidents also increases.
If your job involves lifting heavy loads, you need to protect your back. Read: Back support belts: what a sacrolumbar support can do for your health.
Protect yourself from the rain and keep working
If you still need to work despite the rain, make sure you have the necessary protection equipment to keep going. First, we recommend wearing a raincoat to keep your body temperature stable and stay dry.
Also, if you work in places where there are materials above head height, a helmet will protect you from possible falling objects. If rain persists and visibility becomes difficult, you can use safety glasses to protect your eyes.
Finally, when rain softens the ground, you may require specialized non-slip footwear to avoid falls and accidents.
